Digital Product Passport is more than a labeling project

A DPP architecture must reliably connect the physical product with its digital information. QR, barcode or RFID is only the access layer; the core consists of product identity, serial or lot data, production information, document relationships and data that can evolve throughout the product lifecycle.

How does BOER approach DPP projects?

The first step is defining how the product will be identified and which systems will provide the required data. Coding method, data carrier, printing or RFID infrastructure and the integration layer are then designed together.

  • Product identity and data-model design
  • QR, barcode or RFID carrier selection
  • Coding at production and packaging points
  • ERP / MES / PLM / custom-software integration
  • Verification, update and backward-traceability processes

What can be done today?

A strong starting point is organizing current product identities and data sources. BOER focuses on turning existing Auto-ID and traceability infrastructure into a digital-product-identity architecture that can be extended over time.
