Product Description
Zebra RFD8500 — rFD8500 is a handheld RFID sled that adds UHF RFID capture to mobile devices over Bluetooth. Zebra has discontinued the model and identifies the RFD40 family as its replacement.
Application approach
When selecting a Bluetooth UHF RFID sled, the real barcode/RFID structure, working distance, connectivity architecture, site conditions, software and ERP/WMS/POS integration should be evaluated together rather than relying on the model name alone. BOER treats the device as one component of the complete data-capture workflow.
Configuration note
Connectivity, optics, regional radio, accessories, power and other options may vary by SKU within the same family. Unverified numerical values are therefore not presented as definitive specifications.
Product lifecycle
This is a previous-generation platform. It can remain relevant for installed-base support, integration or migration projects, while current successor models and service status should also be evaluated for new deployments.
